“Permelia” is the name of my maternal Great-Great-Grandmother. She was born in 1850 and died in 1909, in Chickasaw County, Mississippi. That’s about all that is known about her, other than her parent’s names, William Marion and Nancy Ann Porter Jolly along with her husband, J.W. Witt and the name of their daughter, Sally Witt, my Great-Grandmother. The rest is lost to the ages. In the old church cemetery, beside her father’s tombstone, lies the stump of a piece of marble. Likely, it’s her grave as she can’t be found elsewhere as no records exist.
Naming my company Permelia Media is my way of placing her name on something since it exists nowhere else in order to keep her memory alive.
